Abstract: Hydrotreating (HDT) is the key process in oil refinery aimed at production of high quality products or providing pretreatment for downstream processes. Alumina supported Со(Ni)Mo sulfide catalysts are employed in industrial hydrotreating units. One of the approaches to en-hance the activity of HDT catalysts is the addition of organic chelating agents or non-complexing organic additives to the impregnation solutions. The use of organic additives in the impregnation solutions provides positive effect on the subsequent stages of catalyst prepa-ration by decreasing undesirable metal-support interaction, improving cobalt and/or molybde-num dispersion, improving promotion of MoS2 phase by cobalt. Another approach to improve the activity of HDT catalysts is the use of carbon materials as supports instead of alumina. The main reasons for this are higher activity of carbon supported catalysts due to much wea-ker metal-support interaction and higher resistance to deactivation by coke deposition. In this work the effects of multi-walled carbon-nanotubes (MWCNT) and various chelating (citric acid (CA), nitriloacetic acid (NTA)) and non-complexing (diethylene glicol (DEG)) agents on the properties and hydrodesulfurization (HDS) activity of corresponding CoMo catalysts is studied.
