Abstract:
Oil refinery gases formed in the course of crude oil distillation and thermocatalytic processing are sources of С1–С4 hydrocarbons. At the present time the processing of these gases consists in separation to obtain certain fractions and/or compounds as commercial products, and the major fraction of the gas is used as a heat carrier within the plant. However it is more appropriate to obtain high-value-added products by follow-up treating of the separated fractions increasing ipso facto processing depth and improving environmental conditions.
In this work we present data on oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane-ethylene fraction (EEF) of oil refinery gases to ethylene using mixed MoVTeNb oxide, the most active in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane (López Nieto et.al., 2004) as a catalyst. The effect of both reaction conditions (temperature and reaction mixture composition) and temperature of final catalyst calcination on ethylene yield was investigated.
