Abstract: The supercritical fluids (SCF) are considered often as a promising medium for the synthesis of various functional materials including different composites and heterogeneous catalysts. At the same time, we have to avow ourselves that the practical value of the methods proposed so far is rather limited. Here we report two new advanced approaches for the synthesis of heterogeneous catalysts having predetermined properties using supercritical fluids combined with some sol-gel techniques: via aerogel synthesis and supercritical antisolvent precipitation (SAS) of sols and appropriate metal precursors. Two of these approaches have been used for the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) silica aerogel composites, and highly laded bimetallic Ni-, Cu-containing catalysts having solid solution structure of active component.
