Abstract: Here we report our initial results from a comparative study of the catalytic activity of MoVNb, MoVTe, and MoVNbTe mixed oxides in the gas phase oxidation of ethanol. The four-component MoVNbTe catalyst, analogous to those, which are used in the propane (amm)oxidation), proved to be extraordinarily efficient in the synthesis of acetic acid.
