Abstract: A lecture. Homo- and heteronuclear Pd- and Co-containing complexes anchored on phosphinated silica have been synthesized. IR spectroscopy was employed to study the structure of these compounds and their transformations in CO atm. Catalytic properties of anchored complexes have been examined in gas-phase hydroformylation of propylene. In the presence of Pd-Co catalysts, products were produced at temperatures as low as 40-70°. The interacting bond method was used to estimate enthalpies of the steps of ethylene hydroformylation involving homo- and heteronuclear Pd- and Co-containing complexes. As shown, oxo-reaction on Pd-Co complexes is characterized by lowest enthalpies of the steps of CO insertion into a metal-carbon bond and hydrogenolysis of acyl carbonyl. A possible reason for the synergetic effect observed is the simultaneous formation of reactive Pd-H and Co-C bonds at activating reactants on heteronuclear centers.
