Abstract: This review summarizes the current knowledge about heterogeneous semiconductor photocatalysts that are active in photocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide and nitrogen under the action of light in the visible and near UV ranges. The main classes of such photocatalysts and the peculiarities of their application in target processes are considered. Particular attention is paid to photocatalysts based on titanium dioxide, which have high activity and stability in the reduction of carbon dioxide. For the first time, the process of photo fixation of nitrogen under irradiation in the presence of various semiconductor materials is considered in detail. The bibliography includes 265 references.
