Abstract: Oxidation of the N–phosphonomethyl iminodiacetic acid (PMIDA) with hydrogen peroxide in a two-phase system (aqueous phase—organic phase) in the presence of the [(Octn)3NMe]3{PO4[WO(O2)2]4} catalyst was studied and the kinetic parameters of this reaction were determined. It was found that the PMIDA oxidation with aqueous H2O2 proceeds only in the presence of the catalyst giving PMIDA N-oxide as the main product. Under the studied conditions, the reaction orders with respect to the reagents (PMIDA and H2O2) and the catalyst were found to be the first. The apparent activation energy of the reaction for the temperature range of 313–343 K is 37 ± 3 kJ/mol.
