Abstract: In this paper, the results of studies of cobalt-molybdenum catalysts based on modified carbon-mineral materials derived from sapropel are presented. The influence of the modifying method of the raw materials on the textural and acid-basic characteristics of the support and properties of the obtained catalysts in the hydroconversion of 1-methylnaphthalene and dibenzothiophene was shown. It was found that the maximum effect on the activity of cobalt-molybdenum catalysts based on carbon-mineral materials from sapropel has an acid treatment, allowing to increase the conversion of methylnaphthalene by 28 times and dibenzothiophene by 37 times compared with the initial untreated sample.
