Abstract: The results of studies of nickel-containing mono- and bimetallic catalysts deposited on carbon-mineral materials obtained on the basis of sapropel are reported. The effect of the chemical composition and acid treatment of the support on the physicochemical characteristics and properties of catalysts in the liquid-phase hydrogenation of nitrobenzene is shown. It was found that acid treatment of carbon-mineral supports leads to an increase in the activity of catalysts in the hydrogenation reaction due to an increase in the specific surface area (while maintaining the average pore size), the formation of acid sites on the support surface, and the formation of highly dispersed particles of supported nickel.
