Abstract: Abstract – The use of adsorption heat transformation is a promising way for energy saving. In order to create compact and efficient devices, it is extremely important to optimize heat transfer processes. This paper is the first to analyze quantitatively techniques (labor, time and resource consumption) that allow ranking commercial radiators available on the market from the point of view of their usage as heat exchangers for adsorption heat transformation. Both a method based only on theoretical calculations and two experimental methods are considered. Three commercial finned flat tube radiators with different geometry have been investigated. It is shown in which cases selecting a radiator with the best thermophysical characteristics is enough to make only theoretical calculations, and in which cases additional experimental research is necessary. Experimental procedure of testing in wind tunnel has been carried out for two commercial radiators with close external and different internal geometries. This procedure allows choosing the best radiator from a set of ones characterized by similar external parameters. The proposed algorithm of theoretical calculations and experimental tests combination allows time and toil saving selecting of optimal radiator from available ones and ensures the design of more efficient and compact adsorption heat transformers.
