Реферат: The development of efficient catalysts for heterolytic activation of H2O2 that avoids the formation of free radicals has been a long-standing challenge in selective oxidation catalysis. During the past two decades, significant progress has been achieved in understanding different factors favoring heterolytic versus homolytic pathways for H2O2 activation. This progress is largely due to the use of transition-metal oxygen anionic clusters, in particular heterometallic polyoxotungstates, as model molecular compounds for studying mechanisms of H2O2-based catalytic reactions by experimental and theoretical methods. In this Review, we critically analyze recent advances in the field of H2O2 activation and selective oxidation with d0-M-substituted polyoxotungstates (M = V, Ti, Nb, Zr, Hf), with a focus on the new insights into oxidation mechanisms.
