Abstract: A layer with an elevated concentration of chemical elements is found in the bottom sediments of Lake Peyungda, 30 km from the epicenter of the Tunguska Cosmic Body (TCB) explosion in 1908. It is studied by means of scanning X-ray fluorescence microanalysis, electron microscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. In the layer corresponding to the years 1908–1910, an increase is observed in the number of mineral grains resulting from the weathering of the surrounding rock, due likely to the TCB explosion.
