Реферат: A series of Zn-containing powders, granulated sorbents and CoMoZn catalysts were synthesized for the removal of sulfur-containing compounds from associated petroleum gas. Zn-containing powders were obtained by precipitation with varying the type of precipitant – NaOH, NH4HCO3 with/without addition of NH3. Granulated ZnO sorbents and CoMoZn catalysts were obtained by plasticizing Zn-containing precursors, pseudoboehmite and/or CoMo compound. The samples were studied by XRD, SEM, TGA, XPS, nitrogen adsorption–desorption and mercury porosimetry. The activity and sulfur sorption capacity of the synthesized systems were determined in the adsorption of H2S (0.5 % vol.) and desulfurization of a model mixture of 0.235 % H2S, 0.015 % ethyl mercaptan (EtSH). It has been established that a change in the precipitant type leads to the change in the shape and crystallization of Zn-containing precursor particles that have a strong effect on the porous texture of sorbents and catalysts. It was found that the sorption capacity of sorbents increased with lower crystallization degree and smaller Zn-containing particles. In the CoMoZn granular system, ZnO particles are coated with binding agent (alumina) being covered by Co and Mo particles, creating a sandwich-like structure. The introduction of the CoMo component leads to an increase in the breakthrough time of EtSH and hydrogen sulfide, i.e. to an increase in the lifetime of the catalyst-adsorbent. The determining factor for H2S sorption and the activity of catalysts in the conversion of EtSH is the mutual arrangement of the CoMo component and the ZnO adsorption site and the size of ZnO particles.
