Abstract:
The effect of chemical modification by sodium hydrogen carbonate on the adsorption and chromatographic properties of aluminas was studied by low-temperature nitrogen adsorption followed by thermal desorption, IR spectrometry, and gas chromatography. It was found that, at a decrease in the volume of micropores, adsorption and desorption proceed in mesopores. It was shown that, at the higher chemical homogeneity of the alumina surface, the symmetry of the chromatographic peaks and the efficiency of the column are considerably improved.
