Реферат: A traveling wave (autowave) is a spatiotemporal structure, which can form in the layer of catalytically active quiescent porous solid as a result of a self-organization process. The theory of nonlinear-wave propagation in active distributed kinetic systems originated from the fundamental works by A.N. Kolmogorov, I.G. Petrovskii, and N.S. Piskunov [1], R. Fisher [2], and Ya.B. Zel’dovich and D.A. Frank-Kamenetskii [3]. What is the nature of the self-organization process? Maurice A. Biot have formulated the following theorem [4]: Considering a system which is not in equilibrium, its instantaneous velocity direction is such that the rate of entropy production is a minimum for all possible velocity vectors satisfying the condition that the power input of the dis-equilibrium forces is constant. The thermodynamic description of physicochemical processes in a layer of catalytically active quiescent porous solid is considered in the approximation of the quasi-homogeneous (basic) model [5]. Such a model takes into account a conective flow of the gaseous reaction mixture through the static catalyst bed, the effective heat conduction of the blown-through granular layer, and the chemical transformation serves as a source of the heat and matter. Qualitative and numerical analysis of a second-order dynamic system and of the local and complete entropy production in the system were performed. It is shown that the complete entropy production in the system is a functional of the self-propagating wave solution of the problem, possessing extreme properties, which minimum corresponds to the only physically meaningful autowave solution - slow traveling wave. A variational formulation of the problem is presented. A spatiotemporal dissipative structure (a fast traveling wave in the presence of a reversible reaction) is shown to exist near the system’s thermodynamic equilibrium.
