Abstract:
30%PdPtRu/C and 30%Pt1Ru1/C catalysts were synthesized via formation and subsequent adsorption on a mesoporous Sibunit support (АBET = 85 m2·g-1) of mixed hydroxo-complexes of corresponding metals. According to XRD and TEM, catalysts contain highly-dispersed and alloyed metal particles. Studies of the catalysts on the anode of direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) showed that partial replacement of platinum by palladium results in minor losses of the anode performance. Power density of DMFC (75 °C, 1.4 mg·cm-2 anode catalyst loading) was determined to be 36, 39, 40 и 40 mW·cm-2 for catalysts with the Pt1Pd1Ru2, Pt2Pd1Ru2, Pt2Pd0.5Ru2 and Pt1Ru1 composition of the active component, respectively.
