Abstract: The recently developed iron bis(imino)pyridine complexes are being studied intensely by many researchers as the constituents of catalytic systems for the polymerization of ethylene and other olefins. In this work, we prepared, for the first time, a series of multifunctional bis(imino)pyridine ligands containing several alternating bis(imino)pyridine groups and obtained their complexes with iron chloride. The behavior of the resulting multifunctional iron complexes in ethylene polymerization was found to differ substantially from that of monofunctional analogues
