Abstract: Herewith, our recent results in the chemo-, regio-, and stereoselective catalytic oxygenation of C(sp3)-H groups with hydrogen peroxide in the presence Mn complexes with bis-imino-bis-pyridylmethyl and related N4-donor ligands are summarized. Under optimal conditions, secondary and tertiary C-H groups can be hydroxylated in good to high yields, chemo-, and stereoselectivities (up to 97 % ee). The use of “polarity reversal” approach for the suppression of overoxidation of methylene groups to carbonyl groups is exemplified for enantioselective benzylic C-H hydroxylations.
