Abstract:
The presented report shows the possibilities of micro-XAFS (XANES/EXAFS) spectroscopy for the study of micro-objects, using the example of the study of microparticles of the Sikhote-Alin meteorite. Initially, the sample containing fragments of the Sikhote-Alin meteorite was examined by the method of high-precision two-dimensional scanning micro-XRF using the principle of localization of inclusions on the confocal X-ray microscopy module. The presence of inclusions with an abnormally high tungsten content was detected. It should be noted that the presence of tungsten in meteorite microparticle samples is not typical for such systems. Micro-XANES study was conducted to establish the nature of the origin of tungsten compounds in the selected inclusion.
