Abstract:
This work is dedicated to the glass-fiber catalysts for selective oxidation of hydrogen sulfide by oxygen into sulfur. The samples of glass-fiber catalysts were prepared by means of impulse surface thermo-synthesis method. The preparation included the supporting of the thin layer of porous SiO2 at the external surface of glass micro-fibers with following impregnation of this layer with solution of the active component (V2O5, Fe2O3 and CuCrO4) precursor and fuel additive. Vanadia and iron oxide samples showed high oxidation activity, significantly exceeding that for conventional catalyst. These catalysts may be recommended for practical application.
