Abstract: The improvement of the catalytic activity of Pt/TiO2 catalyst in low-temperature CO oxidation could be achieved by modification of a small amount of iron. The relationship between P t /TiO2 and Pt,Fe/TiO2 behaviour depends on the chemical composition and real structure. The introduction of iron additives in Pt/TiO2 catalyst results in the formation of nanocrystaline structure of support. It leads to increase in platinum dispersion and change in the electronic state. For the optimum amount of Fe in the catalyst 1 wt.% Pt, 0.28 wt.% Fe/TiO2 the Pt+/Pt0 ratio arises to maximum value of 1.55. It is due to the changes in the interaction of platinum with support because the iron stabilized in nanocrystalline structure of TiO2. This provide the high catalytic activity Pt,Fe/TiO2 catalysts in low-temperature CO oxidation.
