Abstract: Hydrocraking of vacuum gasoil provides the production of the following products: hydrocar-bon , gasoline fraction, fraction and hydrocracking residue. Once-through hy-drocracking process is widely used. Yield of hydrocracking residue for once-through hy-drocracking process is approximately 20%. Hydrocracking residue is used as a feedstock for catalytic cracking or hydrodewaxing units. However there are other ways for hydroprocessing of hydrocracking residue such as production of diesel fraction with low pour point and lube base oil, diesel fraction with high yield, diesel and gasoline fractions when a residue hy-drocracking conversion is high. It is necessary to upgrade a hydrocracking unit with the reac-tor with special equipment or to use hydrodewaxing units present on refinery to hydroprocess hydrocracking residue. In both cases reactor units contain catalysts which provide conversion of hydrocracking residue into appropriate products. Low sulfur and nitrogen content being poisons for Pt and Pd should enable the efficient use of these metals for hydrogenation function in bifunctional catalysts. Hydrocracking residue is a heavy hydrocarbon fraction with initial boiling point higher than 360°C. Therefore catalysts with cracking function have to be used to convert hydrocracking residue. For each way of hydroprocessing appropriate acidic components for the catalyst should be fitted. The aim of this work is to research the possibility of different ways for hydroprocessing of hydrocracking residue using Pd containing bifunctional catalysts.
