Abstract: A set of CoMoNi catalysts supported on alumina and sepiolite-like mineral have been studied in heavy tatar oil hydrotreating in a fixed bed reactor. To elucidate the effect of macroporous texture and phase composition of the support all the samples have been investigated by XRD, XPS, XFS, SEM, TEM, mercury porosimetry and N2 low-temperature adsorption methods. Despite a plenty of factors being relevant for high catalytic activity, the macroporous texture was shown to be of great importance in this process.
