Реферат:
Activity of (electro)catalysts is known to be strongly influenced by the composition and structure of the particles. After contact with air the surface of metallic Ni is oxidized to form several layers of NiO covered by α-Ni(OH)2, which further transform into β-Ni(OH)2. We demonstrate the influence of NiO/Ni(OH)2 species on the activity of Ni in the hydrogen electrode reactions in alkaline media. Electrodeposited Ni nanoparticles with different sizes was studied and compared with polycrystalline Ni disk electrode. Preparing of bimetallic Ni-based materials provides another way of changing the activity of Ni. We demonstrate the enhanced activity of carbon supported NiCu/C catalysts for the hydrogen oxidation/evolution reactions. We also developed a kinetic meanfield model which provides some insights into the mechanism of the hydrogen electrode reactions.
