Abstract:
It was reported the effective approach to enhancing catalytic activity of supported nickel phosphide catalysts for methyl palmitate hydrodeoxygenation by combination of metal and acid sites in catalytic systems. The catalytic activities of NixPy/SiO2 catalysts depend on the composition of the nickel phosphide phase and quantity of surface acid POx groups identified by 31P MAS NMR. The most active SiO2-supported nickel phosphide catalysts have been formed using phosphite type precursor and Ni/P initial molar ratios lower than 1.0. Moreover, the cooperative effect was observed in methyl palmitate and intermediates transformations over physical mixture of Ni2P/SiO2 and γ-Al2O3 leading to the significant increase in catalytic activity.
