Abstract: Hydrogen is an important chemical and environmentally-friendly alternative energy source. Development of ‘‘green’’ or carbon-neutral hydrogen production technologies is an urgent task to provide the sustainable development. Bio-ethanol is an attractive renewable feedstock for H2 because of its availability, high hydrogen content, low toxicity and cost. In this work nanostructured Ni/Ce1-xMxOy (M = Gd, La, Mg) catalysts were elaborated for effective bioethanol autothermal conversion into hydrogen-containing gas. The tuning of dispersion and redox properties of Ni active component was realized through precise control of support properties and catalyst preparation mode. The correlation between composition, physicochemical and functional characteristics of catalysts was identified. The developed catalysts exhibited resistance to carbon deposition and stable activity during on-stream operation at 600oC
