Abstract:
Electron-acceptor sites are sites capable of ionization of aromatic molecules yielding radical cations witch can be tested using EPR spectroscopy. In this study, we investigated catalysts based on γ-Al2O3 and ZrO2 during dehydrochlorination of 1-chlorobutane using spin-probe method. The catalytic activity of pure γAl2O3 and ZrO2, and the concentration of electron-acceptor sites increased during the reaction due to the surface chlorination. Activity of sulfated samples was higher initially, and it is in good agreement with higher concentration of electron-acceptor sites. Their activity gradually decreased during the reaction. It was shown that the concentration of weak elector-acceptor sites correlated with the catalytic activity
