Abstract:
Yolk-shell nanoreactors (NRs) represent a new generation of heterogeneous catalysts with excellent catalytic stability due to their specific structure. The present paper presents analysis of the catalytic reduction of 2- and 4-nitrophenols over different gold based NRs, reaction commonly used for evaluation of nanoreactor’s performance because easy monitoring of the reaction progress with UV-Vis spectroscopy. Application of Principal Component Analysis for spectra collected under UV-Vis monitoring of nitrophenols reduction over different nanoreactors first revealed high impact of Au core decoration with Pd or CeO2 and the nature of nanoreactor’s shells in the reaction mechanism.
