At present, the problem of intensification of oil production from deep horizons is becoming increasingly important, and it is especially actual for intensification of extraction of unconventional hydrocarbon raw materials (bituminous rocks) in the Arctic region of Russia.
A possible direction of significant increase in oil recovery is the conversion of heavy oil and non-traditional hydrocarbon feed stocks using catalysts directly in oil reservoirs [1], and / or carrying out reactions with a large gassing also directly in oil reservoirs [2]. To create such advanced catalytic technologies, we conducted a study of rock cores to assess the possibility of using them in situ as catalysts and supports.
The paper presents the results of investigations of the catalytic activity of rock cores in relation to reactions: decomposition of ammonium nitrate, oxidation and hydrocracking of hydrocarbon components of oil. The possibility of creating improved catalysts based on rock matrices for the conversion of hydrocarbon oil components has been shown.
The catalytic activity of synthesized nanoscale catalytic systems in test reactions of methane oxidation, decomposition of ammonium nitrate and hydrocracking of asphaltenes is compared. The developed methods of preparation of catalysts and the way of introducing precursors into the matrix can be applied in conditions of possible practical use in oil fields.
