Abstract:
The present work deals with the comparison of various “salt in porous matrix” (CSPMs) composite sorbents for sorption thermal energy storage system. Six composite sorbents were prepared using different matrices and salts. The chosen matrices were mesoporous silica gels with the average pore size of 9 and 15 nm and macroporous expanded vermiculite. The employed salts were LiCl and LiBr. All the samples were characterized in term of texture properties by means of physisorption measures; study of their adsorption equilibrium and energy storage capacity.
