The title compd. is prepd. by hydrogenation of low-S benzene on Ni catalysts with a precatalyst (chrome-nickel, alloyed Ni, or Ni pptd. on carriers). Adsorption of S compds. is carried out at atm. pressure and 100-200° with a 5:1 C6H6-H ratio and hydrogenation on catalysts of similar compn. at 30-200 atm. and 100-200° with a 1:20-100 C6H6-H ratio.
