Abstract: N2O-​mediated oxidn. of rubbers contg. double carbon-​carbon bonds was carried out until oxygen level in polymer reached 3-​40 wt %. Polymers contg. carbonyl groups were obtained. This method allows introduction of only carbonyl groups with no other groups and without formation of byproducts such as catalyst residues. The method removes the stages of purifn. of polymers and complex treatment of degrdn. product of the modifying agent.
