The invention relates to a method of producing carbonyl compds., more particularly S2-S4 ketones and aldehydes. The method is based on the gas-phase oxidn. by nitrous oxide of S2-S4 alkane-olefin mixts., such as a butane-butylene fraction or a propane-propylene fraction obtained by thermal and/or catalytic cracking, to produce S2-S4 ketones and aldehydes. The process is carried out under continuous flow conditions at a temp. of 300-550oC and a pressure of 1-100 atm without prior isolation of individual olefins from the fractionation products and in the absence of a catalyst. The method provides for high productivity, high overall selectivity for ketones and aldehydes, and explosion-safe operation. A method of obtaining carbonyl compds., namely ketones and aldehydes C2-C4 from C2-C4 olefins, is developed. Method is carried out in gas phase by interaction of nitrous oxide with mixt. of aliph. C2-C4 olefins and alkanes at temp. 300-550°C and pressure 1-100 atm.
