Abstract:
CO oxidation on a surface composed of two types of patches was simulated by the Monte Carlo method. Each patch has kinetic properties close to those of Pt(100) and Rh(100). The reaction rate was shown to increase significantly at the interface, involving COads on platinum and Oads on rhodium, under particular conditions.
