Abstract: The scalemic form of active alkaloid (−)-dipthocarpamine was synthesized by asymmetric oxidation ofN-isopropyl-N′-(methylthiohexyl)urea with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of vanadium(IV) complexes with chiral Shiff's bases.
