Abstract:
Conclusions
1. Thermochemical treatment of type Y zeolites leads to a redistribution of the A1 atoms of the zeolite skeleton into cationic positions. Decationation of the zeolites — erionite and high-silica zeolite (HSZ) — does not bring about any changes in the state of the A1 atoms in the zeolite skeleton.
2. The concentration of OH groups, accessible for the adsorption of pyridine, is greater in decationated type Y zeolites than in decationated zeolites of the mordenite, erionite, and HSZ types. The results of investigations of the IR spectra of adsorbed CO and pyridine show that the concentration of electron-acceptor reaction centers is also greater in the first case.
3. According to the IR and 27Al NMR data, the proton-donor and electron-acceptor reaction centers are present in the greatest concentration in type Y zeolites and, in the least concentration, in HSZ. This is associated with the presence in the first type of Al atoms in cationic positions in the cavities.
