Abstract:
A strong interaction with penetration of C into the oxide lattice was observed in C deposition on Cr2O3 catalyst during combustion of 1,3-butadiene. The oxycarbides and a separate C phase separated during the reaction. The C in the lattice is most active with respect to oxidative catalyst regeneration. The role of Cr6+ in carbonization and catalyst regeneration is discussed.
