Abstract:
Heteropoly acids containing Mo and V catalyzed the ring bromination of benzene, toluene, p-xylene, mesitylene, naphthalene, thiophene, and PhBr by HBr and O2 in aq. HOAc. The heteropoly acids catalyzed the oxidation of Br- by O2 to form Br2, the brominating agent.
