Abstract:
The coprecipitation of Al3+ and Cu2+ hydroxides was studied by considering the formation of polynuclear hydroxy complexes of Al3+ as the intermediate products, their evolution and reactions with Cu2+ hydroxy complexes. Two new Cu2+ hydroxoaluminate were prepared having unit cell parameters a 5.05 and c 4.77 Å (baierite-like structure) and a 2.91 and c 8.7 Å (baucite-like structure), resp. The phase composition of the hydroxides was studied as function of the preparation method.
