Abstract:
A comparative study of the BET method and the comparative method (Z. et al., 1976) for determining surface area (Smol) occupied by a molecular adsorption on an adsorbent reveals that the latter method is suitable for Smol determined for molecules of low adsorption energy. The BET method gives lower-than-real value of Smol for such species. The values of Smol were detected for Ar, Kr, and N2 on 19 components adsorbents of different chemical nature.
