Abstract:
The influence of the granulation conditions on the porous structure and the mechanical strength of an extruded multicomponent molybdenum oxide catalyst has been investigated. It is shown that the mixing of the powder with water is accompanied by the fragmentation of a large portion of the original grains, which results in the formation of fairly strong granules with a uniform porous structure. The sintering of the catalyst during thermal treatment results in an increase in its mechanical strength.
