Abstract:
A study was carried out on the phase structure formation, surface, porous structure, and mechanical strength of high-temperature supports prepared by mixing, and subsequently calcining at 1000-1550 ° C, magnesium oxide with reprecipitated aluminum hydroxide (RPAH), γ-Al2O3, and reprecipitated aluminum hydroxide and hydrated alumina (RPAH + HA). In all cases a solid solution was formed having a spinel structure with cation vacancies, the number of which is reduced on replacing RPAH plus HA or gamma Al2O3 by RPAH and on increasing the MgO content and calcination temperature.
