Abstract:
The local environment of Al(III) ions in hydrargillite, boehmite, and the amorphous products obtained in their mechanochemical activation, was studied by means of 27Al NMR in the solid phase. The measurements were made on SKhR-300 spectrometer at a frequency of 78. 18 MHz with rotation of the sample at the magic angle (54 grad 44 prime ) at a frequency of approximately 4 kHz. On the spectra of the initial boehmite, hydrargillite, and activated hydrargillite, there is a signal with a chemical shift of 2-8 ppm, corresponding to Al(III) ion in an octahedral environment. At the same time, on the spectra of the amorphous product obtained in the mechanochemical activation of boehmite, an additional signal with a chemical shift of 34 ppm appears along with the broad peak. Up until now, such a chemical shift has never been observed on the 27Al NMR spectra of samples of aluminum hydroxides and oxides.
