Abstract:
A study has been made of the nature and quantity of the oxide in the system Co-Me-O (where Me equals Mg, Al, Zr, La) and the influence of the calcination temperature on the phase composition, dispersity, rate of reduction, and activity in exhaustive oxidation of butane. It has been established that ZrO2 and La2O3 increase the activity in comparison with pure Co3O4, whereas MgO and Al2O3 lower the activity. The rate of reduction of Al2O3 or La2O3; the introduction of MgO or ZrO2 gives a slight decrease in the reduction rate in comparison with pure Co3O4.
