Abstract:
Spectral features of CO and NO complexes with vanadium cations in different oxidation and coordination states are investigated using IR spectroscopy and ESR. V5+ cations are not capable of coordinating NO or CO but can interact with ammonia. vCO values for V(n+)-CO complexes are found to decrease with lowering of the oxidation degree of vanadium. Spectroscopic characteristics of NO complexes with V4+ and V3, ions are determined. Formation of V4+-NO, V3+-NO, and V3+(NO)2 complexes is shown to take place.
