Abstract:
A study has been made of the catalytic properties in the hydrogenation of thiophene of mono and bimetallic sulfide catalysts based on Mo, W, Co and Ni obtained by impregnating a carbon material of the ″Sibunit″ type. It has been shown that the catalysts differ in the high activity in the hydrogenation of the C-S bond, in the majority of cases being superior to similar catalysts deposited on γ-Al2O3 and SiO2. High resolution electron microscopy and x-ray diffraction analysis methods have been used to study the morphology of the surface formations and phase compositions of these catalysts. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopic data are evidence for the formation of mixed sulfides of Mo(W) with Ni in bimetallic sulfide catalysts.
