Abstract:
The point-of-max.-coverage method (described previously) is used to determine surface areas for Pt supported on SiO2 or Al2O3 by using H2 chemisorption at 298 and 373 K. Favorable agreement was found between surface areas detected by chemisorption and electron microscopy methods. This shows that the point-of-max.-coverage method is suitable for a series of determinations of sp. surface areas of supported metal phases in catalysts.
