Abstract:
New methods for synthesis of Mo-V-P heteropoly acids H3+nPMo12-nVnO40 (HPA(n), 1 </ = n </= 6) in aqueous solutions starting from stoichiometric amounts of H3PO4, MoO3, and a decavanadic acid (H6V10O28) solution were developed. The latter was introduced either into the boiling suspension of MoO3 in H3PO4, which was boiled to complete dissolution of MoO3, or into the mixture of H3PO4 With low-vanadium HPA(n0) (n(0) < 4). The V-51 and P-31 NMR studies showed the occurrence of reversible reactions of HPA(n) disproportionation to HPA(n0) and HPA(ni) (n(0) < n < n(i)) and splitting off VO2+ from the heteropoly anion in HPA,(2 less than or equal to n less than or equal to 6) solutions.
