Abstract:
A lattice-gas model with anisotropic lateral interactions is used to describe formation of the missing-row structure of the clean Pt(110) surface and destruction of this structure during CO adsorption at coverages above a quarter of a monolayer, and to interpret the special features of thermal desorption spectra of the CO/Pt(110) system.
