Abstract:
"Anions of ion compounds" stabilized by the interaction with the near environment in a crystal, are suggested to be chemically inert even in the surface region. They can be destabilized and chemically activated,in particular, by the chemisorption (coordination) of "H2O cations". An important part in chemical conversions can be played by mobile
H atoms (protons)
